I
ts once again time for our heralded Wonder Woman issue, and were so excited to feature the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter. When I first took on the role of Wonder Woman, there wasn't anything like it on television or in film. The character had an established legacy, but the TV show took it to the next level, said Lynda Carter, actress, singer, activist and the first person to bring the famous DC Comics warrior Amazon to life on screen. I think everyone has loved Wonder Woman for so long because she was so strong. She was never a victim, and she used her powers to defend rather than to seek power. Carter, who is Professional WOMAN'S Magazine s 2022 Wonder Woman of the Year, has continued that legacy in her own life as a powerful and fervent advocate for women's rights and representation, the LGBTQIA+ community, the Alzheimer's movement, disability rights and empowerment, medical advancement, veterans and active-duty military, voting rights, battling food scarcity and more. During her long and impactful career, the former Miss World USA winner has seen changes in Hol- lywood and society, making both a better place for women to succeed and grow. However, she acknowledges that there's still so much that needs to be done. Read more on page 98. Throughout this issue, we highlight plenty of modern-day wonder women who are making their industries and our society better each day, and we hope their stories motivate and inspire you. But remember that now is the only opportunity you need to become your own wonder woman . So, we encourage you to Know Your Value by reading our Q&A with CEO Cheryl McKissack, leader of America's oldest Black-owned design and construction firm on page 56. We also want to help you find a workplace that matches your values on page 34. Finally, for those ready to branch out on their own, learn How to Write Your Business Plan on page 94. Being a wonder woman is about finding your inner strength and drive and then using it to make yourself and the world around you better. It's asking the important question, What steps must we take today to build the world we deserve tomorrow? And we are so excited to see what answers wonder women like you will find.
