Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson
The Honorable Ketanji Onyika Brown Jackson made history this spring when she was officially confirmed to the Supreme Court. Her confirmation made her the first Black woman and the first former federal public defender to serve on the Supreme Court. She was previously a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, and has been a part of several important rulings throughout her career - from human rights and labor laws to congressional investigations. Judge Jackson has served in a federal position for over ten years, holding important positions under President Obama and President Biden, and has served in a position of law since 1996.
