Katya Echazarreta
An engineer and an educator, Katya Echazarreta became the first Mexican-born woman to go to space when she joined Blue Origin's NS-21 flight. Moving to the United States from Mexico at seven years old, Echazarreta is one of the youngest and most accom- plished women in the STEM field today. At just 26, she has already worked on five NASA missions, including the Perseverance Rover mission, co-hosted for science and STEM related shows like Mission Unstoppable and works to encourage women in the STEM ield. Her mission to space not only tremendously adds to her dedication to STEM but also her dedication to inspiring young women.
